This web site is provided and maintained by disciples of
His Divine Grace Param Pujyapada Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara Deva Goswami Maharaja
to publish his works and items about him.
Srila Sridhara Maharaja is a guru in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya who has provided much inspiration to thousands, both in India and around the globe, by spreading the message of Divine Love of God introduced by Chaitanya Mahaprabu.
He is a prominent disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Goswami Prabhupada who established the Gaudiya Math in India. The mission initiated by Bhaktivinoda Thakhur and developed by Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur emerged as "the most powerful reformist movement" of Vaishnavism in Bengal of the 19th and early 20th century.
Srila Sridhara Maharaja's scriptural genius, penetrating realizations and strict practice of the devotional principles of Gaudiya Vaishnavism were soon recognized by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati, who in 1930 awarded him the renounced order of sannyasa. He was named "Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara" meaning "guardian of devotion".
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati saw him as especially fit to protect the Gaudiya Vaishnava line from misrepresentation. After reading one of his Sanskrit compositions glorifying Srila Bhaktivinode Thakura, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati remarked, "Now I am satisfied that, after I leave, there will be at least one man who can represent my conclusions".
